Gaby and Pepper were born 7/21/2011. They are "mostly" Scottie - Pepper's nose is a little short and Gaby's color is too white, but they have the Scottie attitude with a capital A. They get along well with other dogs, are VERY interested in pursuing the cat, house trained - but need to be taught commands etc - and love to play. They are up-to-date on vaccines and have an appointment April 10 to be spayed. Pepper is more shy than Gaby and looks to her to lead the way. They have never been apart so they would like to find a home where they can stay |
The
Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Dayton will provide a placement service for the
Scottish Terriers in need of a permanent home referred from owners, animal
shelters, or animal groups/services.

or animal rescue groups needing assistance with placement of a Scottish Terrier

you are interested in providing a permanent home for a Scottish Terrier, please

and complete an on-line application. Answer all of the
questions even if some may seem redundant. Receipt of your on-line application
will be acknowledged via email. A home visit will be made before placement of a
rescue to verify the information on the application.

Every
rescue Scottie will be examined by a veterinarian if there is not current
(within twelve months) medical record available. All rescues are neutered or
spayed before placement unless there are circumstances that prohibit this. The
adoptive applicant and the Rescue Coordinator will set a date on or before the
date of placement for this to be done.
Most
of the Scottish Terriers referred for placement are males between the ages of
four and eight years of age. Some rescues may need socialization and beginner
obedience training. Any behavior
noted of the rescue needing attention will be indicated on the Adoption
Agreement.
The
adoptive applicant agrees to:
 | Make a donation of $50 to the
Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Dayton, plus the cost of any medical fees
paid by the Club for the rescue. |
| Properly house, feed, water,
and care for this animal, to include provision of routine inoculations and a
worm prevention program as established by a veterinarian. |
| Obtain veterinary examination,
diagnosis, and treatment when the rescue becomes ill, injured, or when the
rescue shows symptoms of becoming ill. |
| Exercise proper control and
restraint over the rescue at all times and not permit the rescue to run at
large. |
| Purchase a license for the
rescue as required by law and see that the rescue wears the license at all
time. |
| Assume responsibility for
training, specifically basic housebreaking and training against chewing and
digging. |
| Not to use the rescue for any
type of experimental breeding purposes. |
The
adoptive applicant further agrees to notify Rescue Coordinator if the rescue is
subsequently lost or missing. The rescue will not be sold, traded, or given away
to another person or agency. The adoptive applicant further agrees to notify the
Rescue Coordinator of the death of the rescue.
The
adoptive applicant accepts possession and ownership of the rescue at his/her own
risk and releases the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Dayton of any liability
or damages cause by the rescue to any person or property.
